About. Mr. Jeff WoffindenI was born in Seattle and grew up in Wenatchee, WA. After high school, I joined the US Air Force and served for 25 years. I started out as a mainframe computer operator then retrained and became a computer programmer. After finishing my Bachelor Degree, I attended Officer Training School and was commisioned as a Computer/Communications Systems officer. After retiring from the USAF in 2008, I took a position with Lockheed Martin serving in various roles supporting all of the IT for the US Department of Energy's Hanford site in Richland, WA.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology, a Master's in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and am a graduate of the Air Command & Staff College. Through the course of my career, I've had the privilege of working a wide variety of programs and systems, including a Space Shuttle mission, operations and maintenance of the Air Force's Satellite Communications network, improved targeting systems for the B-52 and AC-130 aircraft, operational testing of the first USAF unmanned aerial vehicle, and the Department of Defense's world-wide military intelligence network, to name a few. I have a passion for science, engineering and all things SPACE! I look forward to a great experience working with our next generation of STEM professionals. |
